The Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa, a member of the Three Cities Group, was awarded the best hotel in Africa award with a 96 out of a possible 100 point rating in the prestigious Conde Naste Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2010 announced recently.
The hotel was also voted as 22nd best resort/hotel in the world on the awards Top 100 list.
“It’s an honour to know that what we set out to do in the hospitality industry is acknowledged by those who really count – the guests themselves,” says Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa General Manager Eben Lassen.
Located on the site of one of Franschhoek’s original country retreats, Le Franschhoek retains its exclusive charm Cape country vernacular & thatched roofs etched against a blue sky and granite mountains draped with fynbos while décor is a fabulous fusion of contemporary Euro-classicism and modernist Cape sensibilities.
With a variety of 63 stylish rooms, Le Franschhoek is not only a desirable base for vineyard touring but offers plenty of on-site pastimes from an award-winning Camelot Spa to tennis and unwinding in the big pool while the outdoor restaurant, Le Verger, is enchantingly set amid lemon, apple, and pear trees and presents a unique gourmet picnic approach.
Since 1988, a select sample of Condé Nast Traveler readers have taken the Readers' Choice Survey and in 2010 the questionnaire was available to all readers through a secure Web site with each candidate rated on a five-point scale of various criteria.
Three Cities Group is a leading hospitality management company offering an extensive collection of hotels throughout Southern Africa and also has a strategic alliance with the Mantis Group of luxury hotels. |
