Wildlife Activities and Village Tours Safaris
Mushroom Lodge and Presidential House is the ideal Safari destination, with activities including game drives in open safari vehicles equipped with snacks and beverages.
Guides are qualified and professional and will gladly share their knowledge whilst introducing you to the wonders of South Luangwa’s prolific wildlife tapestry in its’ framework of complex natural grandeur.
At Mushroom Lodge we Endeavour to meet specific needs – our programme is therefore quite flexible.
We try and impart a little knowledge and understanding of the complex interactions within the bush environment to our guests and want our guests to leave with not only good memories of the bush, but with an appreciation for the diversity of nature.
In addition to this, the following activities are available:
A typical day at the Lodge
The day starts with guests meeting their Guides at the Main lodge for morning tea, coffee and light snacks in anticipation of the early morning game drive.
As the morning sun rises over the horizon, guides head out with their guests into the African bush and who knows what to expect?
A herd of elephant feeding in the lush vegetation, a pride of lion in the shade of an acacia, or a herd of cautious impala huddled together.
The experienced guides will read the previous night’s tracks from an open Safari vehicle and offer knowledgeable advice to inquisitive guests.
After an exciting morning, the fresh aromas of a spectacular breakfast entice guests back to the Lodge.
Guests will now be at leisure, whether an indulgent massage or relaxing at the pool under the African sun, shopping at the Curio store, catching up on some much needed sleep, any number of discoveries await.
As the African day starts to cool down, guests can socialize during a light finger lunch and drinks at the Main area before departing for the afternoon / evening game drive.
After an unforgettable afternoon game drive, guests enjoy drinks and conversation in one of the many points hidden in the bush. As the sun sets and darkness approaches, the animals become more active, rarely seen nocturnal creatures emerge and incredible interactions are the order of the day. The evening game drive is the highlight of the wildlife experience with moments that will define forever your memories of Africa.
The day ends with a sumptuous 3 Course dinner, either served in the Main Dining area, or, weather permitting, in the Boma under a starlit sky. Guests can thereafter relax around the bar, or retire to the Chalets for a restful nights sleep in preparation for the next exciting day!
