The stylishly decorated 47 rooms and suites of the lodge are set alongside the first fairway of the championship ‘De Zalze Golf Course’. The clubhouse is on the other side of the Blaauwklippen River and within walking distance of the Lodge. The rooms enjoy views of the Stellenbosch Mountains, or Three Cities Kleine Zalze Vineyards. Guests can enjoy a full or continental breakfast overlooking the first fairway and green whilst being shaded by 200 year old oak trees. Accommodation is available in a variety of units: two bed roomed family suites, one bed roomed suites, superior rooms, and standard rooms.
Although the lodge offers all the comforts associated with a four star facility, some rooms are available with kitchens or kitchenettes, complete with microwave, and cutlery and crockery for those who prefer to self-cater.
There is a rim-flow swimming pool, a range of vineyard trails for hiking or running, mountain bike trails, a small gym and sauna, as well as wine tastings.
In addition to 24-hour security, all accommodation, both suites and individual rooms, are air-conditioned, fitted with under floor heating, satellite television, internet access, room safes and European wall plugs.
Attentive, thoughtful but unobtrusive service is the Lodges’ hallmark. As the Three Cities Kleine Zalze Lodge is just 3 kms from the beautifully preserved and historic university town of Stellenbosch, it is ideally located for exploring what is one of South Africa’s oldest communities. Many of the original buildings have been faithfully restored. There are many outstanding examples to see of Cape Dutch architecture, mainly along Dorp Street, as well as several leading art galleries, museums, beautiful boutiques, antique shops, jewelers, farm stalls and an exciting range of restaurants, bistros and brasseries, Saturday morning organic and flea markets provide a wonderful opportunity for browsing and engaging with the area’s creative talent.
Three Cities Kleine Zalze also lies on the Stellenbosch Wine Route, South Africa’s most prominent wine route and source of many of the country’s award-winning wines, making it the perfect base from which to learn firsthand about the area’s most renowned wineries.
Golfers can indulge virtually on the spot at the De Zalze Golf Course – one of the Cape’s finest venues – and continue at a range of other top-ranking courses in the Winelands and beyond.
