Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa – a Three Cities Group property – has claimed the title of “Best Scenic Environment” in the internationally acclaimed World Luxury Hotel Awards 2012 which took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 13th. This is the second year that the hotel has won an award at the annual awards ceremony. “The Le Franschhoek team is delighted to have received this celebrated title for 2012. We are honoured to be associated with these prestigious awards in being named as the most picturesque venue of which we are justifiably proud,” says Eben Lassen, General Manager of Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa.
The World Luxury Hotel Awards recognises exceptional hotels for their world-class facilities and service and is the biggest event on the luxury hotel industry calendar.
Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa has reaped an impressive collection of local and international awards since its opening in 2006 – including Conde Nast Traveller’s Hot List (2006), Conde Nast Traveller’s Top 100 New Hotels (2006), Conde Nast Top 25 African Hotels (2008), the Conde Nast Traveller Best Hotel in Africa (2010), Conde Nast Traveller Gold List (2011), and Condé Nast Traveler Reader Choice Awards as one of the ‘Top 100 Travel Experiences in the World’ (2011).
Located in the world famous Cape Winelands, Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa has become one of the most exclusive getaways in its class with a variety of 63 stylish rooms and sumptuous villas offering panoramic views of the Franschhoek vineyards. Capturing the essence of five star luxury, the hotel retains its country retreat charm with thatched roofs etched against a blue sky, and granite mountains draped with lush fynbos.
Hosted by Ms Stephanie Chai and Dato’ Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen, Malaysia’s Minister of Tourism, throughout the ceremony hotels were recognised on a country, continent and global basis with hotels acknowledged for their outstanding service excellence.
“Our belief is that service excellence is the most critical factor in a hotel’s measure as a luxury hotel and that winning a “World Luxury Hotel Award” based on this factor would enhance performance levels if industry peers can be judged against other major players in the field. We can always learn from one another and be inspired to greater levels of excellence – exceeding customers’ expectations and paying attention to detail,” says Marinique de Wet, Director of the World Luxury Hotel Awards.
